NASVHILLE, Tenn. Vanderbilt Law School will hold the 2016 Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Lecture featuring Professor Paul D. Butler on Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2016 at 12:05 p.m. in the Flynn Auditorium.
Professor Butler’s talk is entitled, “The System is Working the Way It’s Supposed To: The Limits of Criminal Justice Reform.”

Norman Wirzba, PhD, Professor of Theology, Ecology and Agrarian studies at Duke University in the Divinity School, the Nicholas School of the Environment and the Sanford School of Public Policy, will present a public lecture at 4 p.m. on Feb. 4 in Light Hall, Room 214 entitled “Why Sustainable Agriculture Matters.”

MVA team volunteers at Nashville Rescue Mission

NASHVILLE, Tenn. The Meharry-Vanderbilt Alliance team and community members joined volunteers at the Nashville Rescue Mission Monday, Dec. 14, to serve lunch for the city's homeless and low income residents. Additionally, the MVA collected and donated needed items -- including tissue paper, shampoo and other necessities -- to Crestview Health and Rehabilitation Center.
The projects were part of an effort by the MVA to give back to the community during the holiday season.
