Welcome Mr. Raymond Mitchell

Raymond Mitchell is an experienced manager with a demonstrated history of leadership within the health services area. He began his academic career at Fisk University where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management with a minor in Health Administration. He matriculated to Meharry Medical College where he earned a Master of Science in Public Health with an emphasis on healthcare administration.

After graduating from Meharry Medical College, Raymond began his career as an American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) Administrative Fellow for the Veterans Health Administration Central Iowa Health Care System. For 7 years, Raymond served as the Program Planner and Clinic Administrator for the Metropolitan Interdenominational Church where he developed, implement, and managed the daily operations of the Ryan White funded First Response Clinic (FRC). FRC provides clinical care, intensive case management and clinical outreach services for indigent patients living with HIV/AIDS who have a history of active substance. Additionally, Raymond served for 10 years as the Director of Member Services and Workforce Strategies with the Tennessee Primary Care Association (TPCA) where he coordinated C -Suite and clinical training events, managing the association’s statewide clinical rotations program and providing technical assistance in workforce development for the 30 Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) representing 211 service delivery sites in Tennessee.

In his role as the Meharry-Vanderbilt Alliance Program Manager for Workforce Development, he will work collaboratively with academic and community partners to promote and/or create healthcare pipeline development programs, to increase the number of people in the health workforce, especially from underrepresented backgrounds
