Environmental Health Workshop planned Nov. 29

NASHVILLE, Tenn. "Environmental Health Workshop: Reducing Your Exposure to Environmental Toxics and the Health Impacts of Climate Change" is planned for Nov. 29, 2016. The workshop will be held at Fisk University, in the Multipurpose Room on the second floor of Spence Hall (17th and Meharry Blvd.) R.C. Wingfield, Jr., PhD, of Fisk University, will be the presenter.

Wingfield will discuss addressing sources of exposure in the home, workplace and community, including:

  • pesticides
  • fire retardants
  • cleaning products
  • personal care products
  • vehicle and power plant emissions
  • radon
  • fishing advicories
  • asthma triggers
  • endocrine disruptors
  • hazardous waste disposal sites

The public is invited, and there is no cost for registration.

Founded in 1999, the Alliance bridges the institutions of Meharry Medical College and Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
