Highest Attended Black Male S.T.E.A.M. Summit

In September, Meharry hosted the annual Black Male S.T.E.A.M. Summit. This annual event focuses on engaging and empowering black males in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics.

With 57 students, across 26 different schools in attendance–this past year was the highest attended Black Male S.T.E.A.M. Summit since its inception. The all-day event featured keynote speaker, Patrick Walker-Reese, alongside breakout sessions, like an intergenerational panel, coding camp, simulation lab, and TSU Robotics presentation.

The Meharry-Vanderbilt Alliance has been involved in the planning and execution of this event, since it was established 3 years ago. Together, we hope to be a part of the continued growth and impact of this event, as it strives to diversify the workforce.
