Nomination Process
Purpose
The Meharry-Vanderbilt Alliance (MVA) Annual Faculty Commitment to Student Excellence Award recognizes one full-time faculty member nominee from either Meharry Medical College, Vanderbilt University, or Vanderbilt University Medical Center who has shown a dedication to student success; one nominee who has gone above and beyond in their dedication to their students and a faculty member who recognizes teaching is their most important responsibility. This outstanding educator demonstrates exceptional skill and dedication in teaching and advising students, interns, residents, or fellows. This award is unique as the faculty being recognized must be committed to student involvement at an outside institution.
Eligibility:
- Full-time faculty, both tenure-track and instructional, in good standing.
Criteria:
Nominated faculty must demonstrate commitment to the following criteria:
- Student success
- Demonstration of commitment to student success and lifelong learning
- Demonstration of a commitment to student support and development
- Demonstration of enhancements to the student experience
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching and research, scholarship, and creative activities
- Inclusion
- Development or support of an inclusive environment/culture
- Demonstration of a commitment to inclusion
- Active participation in the promotion and educational awareness of inclusion

- Complete and upload letter of recommendation
