The Interprofessional Education (IPE) Program offers an inter-institutional collaborative learning opportunity amongst students and faculty that leaves a lasting impact on the community. Each year, professionally diverse teams of students participate in an 8-week group project to create and implement practical solutions to address real community-defined needs.
This year, under the leadership of Meredith Smalls, 13 students and 7 faculty members across 5 local universities are working with community partners–Dismas House, Oasis Center, Special Olympics Tennessee and the Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency. Students will present their work at their year-end Recognition Ceremony in April.
Universities participating include: Meharry Medical College, Vanderbilt University, Tennessee State University, Belmont University, and Lipscomb University.
