MVSA Celebrates with Wine and Cheese Social

On the evening of February 18, 2008, medical and graduate students from both Meharry Medical College and Vanderbilt School of Medicine and School of Nursing gathered to celebrate the growing collaboration between the two schools. The Mardi Gras theme set the tone for the MVSA’s first social event of the new year. Various selections of wine, cheese, and fruits met guests as they mingled in the north lobby of Light Hall at Vanderbilt. Once again this year’s event was highlighted by a dessert contest, where students had a chance to prepare and serve some of their favorite desserts. VMS student Karen Chen took home both first and second place for her delicious caramel toffee brownies and French vanilla cream puffs. Dean Steven Gabbe and Dean Scott Rogers from Vanderbilt were in attendance. This event is the second social event hosted by MVSA. For more information on the MVSA, its mission and upcoming events, feel free to visit the organization’s website or call (615) 936-6070.
